I have an awesome marriage

November 27, 2010

“I know it’s not true, but sometimes I feel less loved because of x, y, z, and I would feel much more loved if you could be/do more a, b, c. Tell me, how do you feel? What can I do to make you feel more loved?”

This method – doing all you can to make your spouse feel more loved – is not a guarantee, but the basics, for an awesome marriage. Read “The Five Languages of Love” by Gary Chapman. Strongly recommended.

We’ve been married soon 8 years, and we love each other more and more for every year.

The Bible tells us “Love your wife”. This means that if you don’t – you’re living in sin.

Actually it says to love her as Jesus loved his bride. How did he love his bride? He gave his life to her out of unconditional love. His bride did not deserve anything. He gave his life for his bride when his bride shouted “Crucify him”. We are commanded to show our spouse the same love,. That means that if you don’t love your spouse as much as you did when you got married, you’re living in sin.

Repent, and love your wife. Unconditionally.

It’s Shabbat. We had a great Kiddush yesterday. And some great time with wife in the evening after the kids went to bed. Coffee, chocolate, white wine, Friends on DVD, and later on, an online game of scrabble. Shabbat is one of the greatest gifts God has given us.

Now it’s Shabbat morning. Congregation is meeting too far away so we’ll be having a family worship today instead. Its 10 AM. The three big kids are playing (and fighting) in their room. I’m trying to get the smallest one to go to sleep. He’s really tired by tries to force himself to be awake (6 months old). Wife has gone to help a friend with back pain.

Now I need to get dressed and start to get some dishes done. Then I’ll need to plan some sort of family worship.

God is awesome.
